Sellers don't prep a skill. They prep a deal.
A PM and I argued that sellers with no time prepare for deals, not skills. The call was to build the skill layer first, so we built it properly, and personalised AI roleplay is in beta. It was never a disagreement about whether skills matter. It was about what gets a rep to log in on a Tuesday. Deal-based AI roleplays are in development now.
Sellers have roleplayed together for decades
Long before software, a seller practised by talking to someone. A manager played the buyer across a desk, or two reps paired up at a sales kickoff. The other person knew the account, pushed back the way that buyer would, and told you straight after what landed.
It worked because the person across the table knew the deal. It never scaled, because that person was a manager with no time.
